Frequently Asked Questions
Services
We provide clinical mental health counseling. Each of our clinicians has different specializations; take a look at our bios on the Meet The Team page to learn more about what we do.
We provide in-person services at our offices in Columbus, Ohio. We also provide telehealth services through the Simple Practice platform. In compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code we only provide telehealth services to individuals who are physically present in the state of Ohio at the time of service.
Telehealth
Counseling
Telehealth counseling (also known as telecounseling or teletherapy) utilizes secure video and audio streaming to allow a client and a counselor to conduct a counseling session remotely. Telecounseling requires a reliable internet connection and a tablet or computer with a video camera and microphone. Clients are encouraged to have access to a private location for their appointments.
Telehealth counseling may not be appropriate for all clients or all concerns. If you have any questions about telehealth counseling please contact us for more information.
Insurance and Payment
We are currently able to accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United Health Care, and OSU Health Plan insurance plans. Michelle DeBellis accepts Medical Mutual. Please check with your insurance provider regarding the cost of services through your individual plan.
We offer self-pay services, and we accept major credit and debit card carriers. Cash or check payment can be arranged upon client request. Sliding scale payments are available for clients facing financial constraints.
Clients with insurance providers with whom we are out of network may be able to submit their invoices directly to their insurance plans for reimbursement.
Fees for Services
Initial intake sessions and ongoing counseling sessions are 53 minutes, and they are billed at $140 for intakes and $130 for ongoing sessions. Additional assessments and complex care, such as the inclusion of minors in therapy, may increase fees. Sliding scale payments are available for clients facing financial constraints.
Cancellation Policies
All appointments canceled within 24 business hours of the appointment will be charged the full self-pay session rate to the card we have on file. All appointments (including intakes) that are no-shows/no-calls will be charged for the full self-pay rate of the session to the card we have on file. All appointments that clients arrive to more than 15 min past the scheduled session start will need to be rescheduled and handled as a no-show.
Clients who repeatedly no-show for appointments or do not provide adequate notifications for cancellations will be referred to other service providers. Following three no-shows or late cancellations, clients will be provided with referrals to other mental health services appropriate to their needs.
